Investor interest is very high
An AltAssets survey of LPs shows that a majority of LPs believe that the private debt sector will offer superior returns over the next few years. Many are actively looking to increase the number of relationships they have with debt groups and are keen to identify and connect with promising managers.
However, with so many private equity firms entering or re-entering the space, and with some others rebranding themselves as specialists, the sector is becoming crowded and LPs believe they have some work to do in order to pick out the future leaders from the ever-growing pack of followers.

A wide range of LPs who have helped create this Forum or provided their views on the sector, are scheduled to attend. In addition, other LPs throughout the world who have expressed a strong interest in the space have been invited.
The majority of participating LPs already have exposure to private debt and most are keen to invest in new funds over the next year or to build relationships with GPs for the medium-term. Further, our LPs are eager to understand how firms are attempting to differentiate themselves.
