The infrastructure sector has risen high in the agenda for many European and international institutional investors. Interest amongst the 10,000 LPs who use AltAssets is stronger than ever. There is a realization that the asset class has an important role to play in their alternatives portfolios and can generate attractive risk-adjusted returns.

Many LPs are actively looking to increase the number of relationships they have with infrastructure groups and are keen to identify and connect with promising managers.

However, with so many firms entering the space, the sector is becoming crowded and LPs believe they have considerable work to do in order to pick out the future leaders from the ever-growing pack of followers.

We are privileged in that we enjoy the support of the world’s most active of influential LPs. A wide range of LPs who have helped create this Forum and provided their views on the infrastructure sector, are scheduled to participate. In addition, other LPs throughout the world who have expressed a strong interest in the sector have been invited.

Virtually all participating LPs already have exposure to the sector and many are keen to invest in new funds over the next year or to build relationships with GPs for the medium-term. Many LPs are eager to understand how infrastructure firms are attempting to differentiate themselves and many are more open to new GP relationships than in any other sector.
