Accounting software startup ZipBooks raises $2m

US venture fund Peak Ventures has led a $2m seed round in accounting software startup ZipBooks.

The round featured participation from Pelion Venture Partners, Liquid 2 Ventures and existing angel investors.

Peak, which previously led a $300K micro investment raise in 2015, said the new funding will be used to fuel growth.

Sid Krommenhoek, founder and managing partner at Peak, said, “We are really impressed with the team at ZipBooks. They have been able to do a lot with very little.

“Their ability to recruit top talent and execute on their business model has been impressive, and is only going to improve.”

The new investment has already been used by ZipBooks to recruit additional talent. Jaren Nichols joins ZipBooks as chief revenue officer from where he was their director of global sales strategy.
