Biography
Charlie joined Moorfield in 2005 and sits on the Board, Investment Committee and Executive Committee as Chief Investment Officer. Charlie oversees both the Traditional and Alternative investment teams who are responsible for the origination, analysis and execution of investments made by Moorfield and its investment partners. As Chief Investment Officer he is also responsible for overseeing investment strategy and portfolio construction and is closely involved in fundraising activities.
Charlie has a degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University and prior to joining Moorfield he worked in corporate finance at Lazard in the real estate advisory group. Whilst at Lazard he was part of a market leading team that advised a number of listed property companies on M&A transactions and private equity groups investing in asset-backed transactions.
Moorfield is a UK real estate private equity investment and asset manager with a 21 year history and track record of investing across a broad range of established and emerging real estate sectors. Moorfield has raised c.£1.5bn since 2005 via its value–add MREF funds and its dedicated special purpose fund (MAREF) that owns the senior housing platform Audley. MREFIV is Moorfield’s most recent fund, which achieved a first close raising c.£120m in October 2017 and has a target raise of £350m. MREFIV has a focus on (i) Build to Rent/Mutifamily, (ii) Student Housing, (iii) Logistics, (iv) Mixed-Use projects and (v) Infrastructure-led real estate.
