Hideki Kurata

Hideki is currently Head of Real Estate Private Equity.  The team invests in portfolios and operating companies in real estate related sectors. In particular, these include assets in the Datacenters and Student Housing sectors. Hideki joined AXA IM – Real Assets in 2014 to Head the Alternatives & Special Situations team, a multi-functional and multi-country team, growing assets under management from €3 billion to over €4 billion whilst realising over €500 million of disposals. He specifically increased AXA IM – Real Assets’ exposure and know-how in the healthcare real estate sector, acquiring asset portfolios in Spain, Italy and Germany.

Hideki has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services and real estate industry. He has extensive pan-European experience in real estate transactions and is a member of AXA IM – Real Assets’ Executive Committee. Previously, Hideki spent twelve years at GE Capital, where he held various positions in mergers and acquisitions and business development roles responsible for the origination, execution and management of strategic transactions. Prior to GE Capital, he worked in JP Morgan’s Real Estate Investment Banking group and BNP Paribas’ project finance team. Hideki holds an Master’s Degree in Economics from Paris X University, is a Graduate of ESCP Europe, and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
