ECI Partners reveals new investor relations director, a year after firm’s biggest-ever fundraise

UK-based private equity house ECI Partners has named former Zetland Capital senior executive Chris Mockford as its new investor relations director.

Mockford was most recently an IR Director at Zetland Capital, a pan-European special situations fund, and previously spent more than seven years as a vice president at Evercore, largely within its private funds group.

His experience at Evercore included providing fund-raising advice for financial sponsors across private equity, private debt, infrastructure and real assets.

At ECI he will support the team and its LPs with co-investment, fundraising and secondary activities across the portfolio.

ECI struck the £1bn hard cap for its 12th fund last September, making it almost 50% larger than its £700m predecessor fund raised in 2018.

The firm also said it had hired Ludvig Hamilton as an investment associate, Christy Welsh as an origination manager and Sam Veevers as an analyst.

ECI managing partner Tom Wrenn said, “Chris, Ludvig, Christy, and Sam each bring unique experience and skills that will be invaluable to ECI as we deploy our latest buyout fund, ECI 12.

“We look forward to working with them as they develop the next stage of their careers. As the private equity landscape continues to develop, ECI’s investments in its team have become ever more important, ensuring we remain well-positioned to source and invest in exciting, high-growth businesses.”
