Venture Capital firm Sapphire has hired Ralph DeBernardo from mid-market private investment firm Peak Rock Capital in its newly created head of investor relations role.
DeBernardo, who also becomes a partner, will oversee all aspects of investor relations to ensure LPs with a direct line of communication with the firm as well as manage strategy and execution around fundraising activities. He will be working across the firm’s ventures, sport and partners strategies to expand its investor base across the US and internationally, the firm said.
DeBernardo was head of investor relations at Peak Rock Capital overseeing investor communications and fundraising. He was also a member of the investor relations team at Vista Equity Partners previously where he was responsible for raising capital and managing investment relationships.

Sapphire Ventures scored $1.7bn of new capital across a string of new funds in February. The multi-fund raise brought Sapphire’s total assets under management to more than $5.7bn.
