Engine Ventures hires Oak HC/FT veteran Daubar to lead capital formation

0

Engine Ventures has hired former Oak HC/FT partner Michelle Daubar as partner and head of investor relations and capital formation, adding a fundraising executive who has helped raise almost $10bn of institutional capital during her private-markets career.

Daubar will lead institutional investor relationships and capital formation for the MIT-born venture manager, which invests in science and engineering-led businesses across climate, health and advanced technology.

She joins after 11 years at Oak HC/FT, where she led investor relations and capital formation and helped the firm raise multiple funds while expanding its institutional LP base.

Daubar previously served as vice president of investor relations and communications at General Catalyst and held earlier investor relations and marketing roles at Lighthouse Capital Partners and Standard Life Investments.

Her appointment comes as Engine continues to scale a platform that has grown beyond $1bn of assets.

The firm raised $398m for Fund III in 2024, its largest fund at the time, taking assets under management above the $1bn mark.

Engine now says it has invested in more than 70 companies whose businesses have collectively raised more than $11bn.

Its portfolio includes Commonwealth Fusion Systems and Form Energy, while semiconductor connectivity business Celestial AI was acquired by Marvell earlier this year.
