Biography

Damian is a Fund Partner at I Squared Capital, focused on the energy transition sector.

Prior to joining I Squared Capital, Damian was the Executive Chairman of Conrad Energy, a Fund I and Fund II portfolio company of I Squared Capital. Conrad Energy is the UK’s largest flexible generation platform with over 1GW of gas generation assets in operation or in various stages of construction / development.

Damian has a highly successful track record of private equity infrastructure investment including setting up and sponsoring IPPs. Prior to Conrad Energy, Damian was a Managing Director at Terra Firma, where he led their investment activity in the renewable energy sector. At the time, this was one of the largest private investment programmes dedicated to this space with approximately $5bn of assets. Damian was at Terra Firma from 1993 to 2014, gaining over 20 years of experience with the firm. Damian joined Terra Firma from Nomura International in 1993 where he worked with Terra Firma’s forerunner, PFG.

Damian has completed 18 acquisitions in the sector whilst at Terra Firma and built three world-class renewable energy utility businesses, through organic and buy-and-build growth strategies: Infinis (the UK’s largest independent renewable energy business), EverPower (a leading US wind energy business) and RTR (now the largest solar power generation company in Europe).

He is also a non-executive director at both the Energia Group (island of Ireland) and Lynher Energy.

Damian has a Sloan Fellowship MSc from London Business School and a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering Science (MEng) from the University of Manchester and L’Institut Supérieur D’Electronique du Nord in Lille, France.
