HgCapital invests in Irish wind farm Sorne Wind

A private equity consortium made up of Advent International, Bain Capital and Berkshire Partners has acquired SkillSoft, an Ireland-based provider of e-learning and performance support SaaS solutions, for $1.1bn.
Healthcare-focused venture funds Fountain Healthcare and Abingworth have led a $70m private investment in Amarin, a Dublin-based biopharmaceutical company specialising in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. The financing includes $66.4m in cash and $3.6m from the conversion of convertible bridge notes.
Irish LED manufacturer Nualight has raised €9.1m in a funding round led by €200m clean technology fund Climate Change Capital Private Equity (CPE).
Intune Networks, a Dublin, Ireland-based telecom equipment supplier, has raised $32.5m in new venture capital funding. Kernel Capital and financier Dermot Desmond co-led the round, and were joined by Enterprise Ireland, Invest Northern Ireland and return backers Balderton Capital, Amadeus Capital Partners and Spark Capital.
