Vietnamese search engine Socbay.com closes latest funding round

Naiscorp Information Technology, developer of the Vietnamese search engine Socbay, has secured Series B venture capital funding led by SoftBank China & India's Bodhi Fund. IDG Venture Vietnam also participated in the funding round, though the amount raised was not disclosed. Naiscorp intends to use the funding to drive the development and growth of the Socbay Vietnamese language search engine Socbay.com. -
Vietnam-focused asset management firm VinaCapital sells stake in food and beverage company Masan Group

IDG Ventures raises $100m fund for investments in Vietnam
22 Dec 2003. Source: AltAssets. IDG Ventures, the private equity arm of International Data Group (IDG), a technology, media, research and event company, has raised a $100m fund to make investments in Vietnam. The firm is also raising a $20m side-fund for the same purpose.









Emerging market private equity specialist Aureos Capital is planning to raise a $250m fund to invest in South-East Asia, according to reports.
Mekong Capital, a Vietnam-based private equity firm, has sold all of its shares in Tan Dai Hung. The plastic food packaging maker was the firm’s first acquisition.
A new $100m closed-end equity fund with an aim to making equity and equity-related investments in sustainably managed natural forests, timber plantations and forestry-related assets in the Pacific region has been launched.
US private equity firm Texas Pacific Group and Denmark firm BankInvest have reportedly agreed to invest over $50m for an undisclosed stake in Masan Group, a Vietnam-based corporation with interests in food and financial services. TPG invested $35m and BankInvest $15m.
Mekong Capital, a Vietnam-based private equity firm, has exited its investment in Duc Thanh Wood Processing through a sale to an unnamed Vietnamese strategic investor.
